Speaking on the track, Andreas Henneberg described his friendship with Kevin Knapp and how “Funky Enough” came into being, saying,
“Kevin Knapp and I used to play board games, make food and drink great wines when he lived here in Berlin. We spent hours talking about music, traveling, the industry, and how to deal with the nightlife and their creatures, but never went to the studio and made music together. Unbelievably, this is the first track we made in so many years of friendship. Priorities… I love to go crazy with my Moog synthesizers, turning knobs, creating sounds and all that stuff. Suddenly Kev shouted at me ‘STOP! THIS IS IT!’ E Voilá, our bass-line was born. I am very happy we did this cut before Kev moved back to the USA and it’s a big pleasure to house it at Dirtybird.”

Kevin Knapp also chimed in on the track, saying,
“This was the last record I worked on before moving out of Berlin. Andreas Henneberg and I met each other early in the almost 10 years I spent there and as my time there grew, so did our friendship. I knew we just had to make a track together before I officially moved back to the USA. The cut is about, how in my opinion, house music is secondary to Techno in Berlin but there is a strong house music presence in Berlin that’s not to be slept on. At the moment we wrote this I was tremendously inspired by the sound Andreas was playing on his live streams and I think vice versa so it was a quick and easy process. We’ve both been playing the cut in almost every set for the past year. We’re stoked to share it with the world now and to be back on DB!”
