Keep In Touch Gives Us The Freedom To ‘Figure It Out’

This planet we call earth can be as messy as a scattered jigsaw puzzle. Whether in a personal or in a societal context, there’s a lot of pieces to pick up and examine.  A lot of intricate fragments waiting to be put together for us to see the bigger picture. It’s a complex game that requires patience as well as our utmost attention to detail. While that sounds like a daunting task, it’s one that’ll surely captivate you because of all the beauty you’ll encounter.

It’s in this same premise that Canadian duo Keep In Touch and their new song “Figure It Out” chooses to operate. Released last October 28th, this final entry for their album “Scrapbook Vol 1” fully embraces the feeling of uncertainty and at the same time that desire to see where it all leads to. All of which expressed through the perspective of would be lovers about to take their relationship to the next level. More than just the pleasure that the body can offer via a one night stand they’ve shared. Both individuals explore the prospect of being a couple and possibly uniting their hearts despite the unsureness of where they stand. As  the lyrics would say, “Is this the start? Is this the start of something real?”.

Like a plot for a rom com, Keep In Touch’s “Figure It Out” is simply stunning and relatable. It’s euphoric beat perfectly simulates that joy felt when deeply attracted to another person. Its lyrics are easy to understand and yet piercing specially to those seeking or are addicted to love. To tie the knot so to speak for both lyric and beat, the smooth vocals instantly gets us into that partying trance like a magic spell. As if inviting us to stand up and writhe our bodies to the rhythm. Ahhh!

All in all, “Figure It Out” is a tune that should be included in everyone’s playlist. It’s an upbeat timeless journey of attraction, love and then some!
