Katy Perry is collaborating with Theta Network, and launched her first set of NFTs for her fans across the globe on December 15 on ThetaDrop. In the first of these digital collectables, there is personal content from Katy with the title “The Roar Package: Looking Back While Moving Forward” to prepare for her upcoming “Play” residency at the Resorts World Las Vegas hotel to begin on December 29.
Katy Perry is auctioning the iconic ‘Golden Lion’ to mark the event, this is from her global viewed performance in 2015. Katy had started her performance by entering the stadium on top of a giant golden lion while singing her 2013 song, “Roar” in front of over 100 million fans from 130 countries. “Roar” had topped the music charts in twelve countries. Fans will also get a chance to bid for this iconic item as a one-of-one NFT, a limited edition behind the scenes look of Katy giving herself a little extra motivation, and digital collectable NFTs to celebrate the Theta partnership. Going beyond mere digital art collectables, the Theta NFTs will connect the physical and digital world to distribute tangible value to their owners and to capture a part of the live experience. The upcoming NFTs will also give the Katy Perry fans enviable and unique experiences, which includes merchandise, access to her nostalgia store, backstage access to her shows, and the meet and greets in her Vegas residency.
Katy shares, “By starting a residency in Las Vegas, I’m following in the footsteps of some personal heroes of mine, but of course we always approach it a little differently. Unlike other residencies, fans will get the opportunity to own a part of the show and my musical story in the form of Theta NFTs. The moments we’re auctioning are particularly important to me and serve as a kind of highlight-reel of my past and present for my career, so they’re very significant and personal.”
