Jorja Smith Has Officially Announced Her Third Album, ‘falling or flying’ Out September 29th

As promised, Jorja Smith has returned. She is ‘right back’ with the announcement of her third album, falling or flying, set to drop this fall. The talented songstress has revealed intimate details about her new album, making it a must-listen. After the releases of her two singles, “Try Me” and “Little Things,” Smith has blessed us with an album that is relatable and all the while inspiring.

Her new album is said to be a current reflection of where she is now in her life. It’s different than her last album, which reflected on how she’s finding herself as a person; instead, falling or flying is what she feels now that she has found herself. Smith compares herself to the album itself and its pacing, taking note of its meticulous timing but connecting to all parts of herself.

“I don’t slow down enough” she says. “This album is like my brain. There’s always so much going on but each song is definitely a standstill moment.”

The album’s theme is sure to resonate with all types of listeners. It discusses the topics and stuggles of relationships and speaks about various situations and circumstances. She also reveals what is different about falling or flying that wasn’t in her very first album.

“I like this world that I’ve just come into. And I’m still figuring things out. Always figuring things out. This is the first time I’m putting stuff out there that I can connect with right now.”

The past few years have been a profound journey of self-reflection and growth for her as she gracefully transitions into her mid-twenties. Embracing the shifting tides of the ever-evolving musical landscape, she has found her voice as both a songwriter and a woman. This transformative period has allowed her to delve deeper into her artistry, crafting melodies and lyrics that resonate with her experiences and emotions.

“It touches on breakups, relationships with my friends, relationships with old friends, relationships with myself. It’s definitely about a lot of relationships, but every song I write, I can sing it to myself.”
