Jonny Dee and Memery Collaborate on Summertime Dance Floor Anthem, “Something New” Featuring Carlitta Ann
“Something New” encapsulates summertime dance floor energy with its funk and house leanings – it’s groovy, fun, and all too catchy to not add to a party playlist. Produced by Memery as a collaboration with singer/songwriter Jonny Dee, this track also features soulful and incendiary vocals by Carlitta Ann. The energy that is felt through the funky basslines and jazz-inspired beats, as well as flutterings of house and R&B inspiration, makes for a memorable listen that will get you into a full-bodied groove.
The environment of the lyrics takes place on the very sort of dance floor the track tries to emulate. Jonny and Carlitta trade responsibilities on the point-of-view from which the lyrics come, but both singers have the same overall thought in mind – how will they spend this limited time with a stranger in this larger party crowd? Not only do the velvety and silky vocals add to the atmosphere of fleeting fun, but there’s noted charisma within the sound design that plays into inspiring movement and approach to that special person. “Something New” is a dance vibe banger that can lead to the sort of situation played out in the lyrics, making it a playlist necessity as we kick off the official start of summer.
