Jessica Audiffred and Sara Benyo closed out last year by releasing “Never Be the Same”. The song quickly grew in popularity and rose to number on the Dubstep Don playlist, Spotify’s playlist for all the hottest dubstep hits. Jessica Audiffred is also currently on the cover of said playlist.
Sara Benyo is like a musical Swiss army knife as she is an electronic singer, songwriter, DJ and producer all in one. Originating from Nashville, Tennessee, she has since moved to Los Angeles, California. While her music is within the dubstep genre, she makes sure that her voice rises and can be heard among the multitude of beats and drops present in her instrumentals. Benyo’s voice makes listeners hungry and eager for more. Her sound can be classified among the genres of Dubstep, Future Bass and Melodic Bass. Benyo began her music career fairly recently. The last two to three years saw her release her first few singles via Spotify, which include songs such “OUT OF TIME” and “Nothing’s Left”. Despite just starting out, Benyo has already collaborated with veterans in her field including FREAKY and Jessica Audiffred.
Jessica Audiffred is a musician from New Mexico. She has rapidly established herself as a force in the Bass and Trap genre, becoming a highly sought after producer and live performer in the progress. Audiffred is also the host of a radio show- “Back to Bassics”.
The start to “Never Be the Same” feels like clouds gathering amidst the start of a storm. Sara Benyo’s voice slowly sets in, as she sings about how being lost in another person and how her life was “never the same” after they met them. A series of beat drops ensure, and they slowly beat to a crescendo. The resulting instrumental is jarring and chaotic and repeats itself over for the next few minutes.
