JAY KAYZE RELEASES HIS SECOND SINGLE “YOU HEARD” OFF LATEST EP
Bay Area artist Jay Kayze dropped his new single and music video for his alternative hip-hop song “You Heard.” This new track is the second single featured on Jay’s EP “Before I Go,” which drops on June 30. Jay’s inspiration for the song came from his biracial background and his experience with identity. “You Heard” is all about relinquishing the narrative others have created of him. Jay is coming into his own and learning to really own himself and his power. Jay has dealt with criticism of “not being black enough,” so he is taking back the narrative and putting all the assumptions to rest. Truly commendable, respectable and even more of a reason to check him out as an artist.
“You Heard” was originally recorded in his friend Koste’s living room and presented with a music video shot in Joshua Tree, CA featuring model/influencer Rubi. The video has epic performance shots following Jay through different scenes of the desert. Rubi is his loyal companion accompanying Jay throughout the whole video. It just screams summertime with its light airy vibes paired with the heavier well versed lyrics. The track and video are just a chill overall good vibe. It is an easy song to get wrapped up in to play at any moment or sing at any time. Definitely a single and artist to check out!
