Idina Menzel Is Letting It Go With “Move”

You may know Idina Menzel from her work on Broadway in roles such as Elphaba in Wicked or Maureen in Rent, or maybe you know her as ice queen Elsa from Frozen. But the Tony Award winner is not just limited to musical theater, with several independent albums released since 1998. Menzel will be switching it up this summer with the release of her upcoming LP, Drama Queen, out August 18th. “Move”, the first single off the new EP, has just been released and it’s definitely making people MOVE!

The new single is made for all the drama queens of the world. It’s an empowering new anthem all about taking up space, being your most authentic self, and becoming the center of attention. It inspires any listener to put themselves first and not let anyone steal their spotlight. Menzel has also spoken on the song, dedicating it to those wanting to embrace their inner drama queen.

The new single showcases Menzel’s signature belts while also showing a new side of the performer who wants to do nothing but dance. The song utilizes some hallmarks of the disco genre combined with modern pop music to create the perfect lead single for the new dance project.

Idina Menzel’s Drama Queen will be a nine-track LP produced alongside big names in music like Sir Nolan, Justin Tranter, and Simon Wilcox. One of the tracks, “Paradise” features Nile Rodgers of CHIC, best known for hits like “Le Freak”, “Good Times”, and “I Want Your Love”. With big names like this on the upcoming album, it’s sure to be a hit.
