Janelle Monáe Empowers Youth with Non-Profit Collaboration

Janelle Monáe is collaborating with the Social Justice Fund to create a better future for women. The Warner Music Group/Blavatnik Family Foundation Social Justice Fund partnered with Monáe to increase support for their non-profit, Fem The Future. Its goal is to provide resources and opportunities to underprivileged youth of color in music, art, and education through after-school and summer enrichment programs. The fund donated $150,000 to support initiatives by the non-profit. Both groups expressed excitement for future collaboration between the two organizations in building a more diversely enhanced community.

Our mission is to build a fem-forward future through creating opportunities for young women and girls in music, arts, and education.

Since June 2020, the WMG/BFF SJF has advocated for the advancement of cultural racial, and systemic change. The group fund donated over $25 million dollars to organizations of change and innovation. Their commitment to the cause aligns with the significance that Fem The Future hopes to provide for the underprivileged youth in the program. The possibilities for influencing our world’s future are limitless as a result of this partnership.

This partnership represents a powerful opportunity to increase access and opportunities for women and girls of color in music, entertainment, and the creative arts. By giving them the tools to succeed academically and professionally – and amplifying their voices and perspectives – we can spark lasting change in their lives. I am confident that together, we can make a real difference and I am excited for all the incredible things we will achieve
