All of us are created uniquely. Though we may share some characteristics with our brethren, at the end of the day we still have our own quirks that make us who we are. Like a crayon in a box, we may be in a group but we still stand out. That’s the human race in a nut shell, same yet different and yes, colorful too at that. Ahh to be human!

This very vibrancy of life is felt strongly in emerging artist Jake Godsil and his song ‘Antelope’. Released September 1st in all major platforms and as part of his debut album “Garden Dreams”. ‘Antelope’ is a free spirited look on love and how it intertwines with our daily lives. Intricate in its every bit, we see how “being in love” changes us. For one, there’s this air of joy and expectation about being with a potential lover. All of a sudden everything around us is rosy and sunny- they’re all we see (as cheesy as it sounds). As if a Pokémon, these emotions evolve overtime. In the tune’s case, we hear that the apple of the eye is slowly drifting away. Tsk tsk!

Quite sad no? But despite this heartbreaking premise, Jake Godsil’s ‘Antelope’ paints for us a rather cheerful picture. So what gives? With breath taking vocals reminiscent of greats such as the Beatles, and instrumentals laced with beats that make our hearts skip a beat. ‘Antelope’ sends us a message that despite heartache, we can still get up and instead look at the bright side. Loosing a grip on the one we love isn’t the end of it all, it’s a challenge we should take head on. Rather than fold like a piece of origami, we should follow the way of the antelope – run free and look for brighter days ahead. For in love there are endless chances, there’s always time and someone to love.

Happy September friends!
