Daniel Trakell Steals Our Hearts In “Still”

Silence and stillness are often misunderstood parts of our existence. Often seen as the enemy of modernity and progress, we go as far as shunning it and throwing it to the way side in favor for this grinding mentality. While this isn’t completely wrong, it’s such an unfortunate sight because we’re missing opportunities to heal ourselves. Ah such tragedy! To give a clearer image of what we’re missing, here’s a snippet from Kristin Armstrong “When everything is moving and shifting, the only way to counteract chaos is stillness. When things feel extraordinary, strive for ordinary. When the surface is wavy, dive deeper for quieter waters.”

Like rain falling from the sky, supreme indie folk story teller Daniel Trakell graces us with his song ‘Still’. Released November 23rd everywhere, this single will also be a part of his sophomore album titled ‘Into The Blue’.

This latest offering from Daniel Trakell introduces us to an alternate world filled with peace and serenity. A place where hearts can mend and learn how to stand again, ‘Still’ shows us that there’s life after sorrow and pain. It may seem like we’re stuck floating in an abyss of emptiness, but in actuality, there’s a glimmer of hope that exists. It might seem dire for now, but you best believe that a hero will unexpectedly emerge helping us to get back on our feet. A stranger perhaps? A familiar face? No one knows for sure. All that’s certain is as long as we live there’s a chance to start anew. So grab on to your pens and it’s time to start writing the newest chapter in our lives!

More than just a spring of hope, Daniel Trakell’s ‘Still’ is a thinking piece that lets us realize for ourselves that life is a process of trial and error. With a voice so gut-wrenchingly beautiful mixed in with instrumentals that makes everyone swoon, this tune is the perfect depiction of what a slice of heaven here on earth would sound like. The song fully inculcates us a spirit of resiliency amidst all the storms that come knocking on our doors. More importantly, it leaves us this lingering message that everything is but temporary including the demons that haunt us.
