Interview with Kai Castro at Seismic Dance Event 5.0

We first met Kai Castro, a native Austin DJ dealing in progressive and melodic house and techno sounds who has been drawing more from indietronica influences, at Seismic Dance Event 4.0 in 2021. We had the great pleasure of reconnecting with him at the event’s 5.0 edition to see what he has been up to over the last year.

During the interview, he shared with us that he has been focusing more on his production with the intent of releasing that one perfect tune that he hopes to be picked up by a major label. With the help of various mentors, Kai has been working on incorporating more samples from his life into his originals, and he expressed excitement at being able to play all original tunes during his b2b set with his good friend, Colton Cameron, during the festival. Similar to last year, he still has dreams to one day play in Amsterdam and continuously reps his love for parrots, both his own and just in general.
