Interview with JOPLYN at Seismic Dance Event 5.0
Berlin-based producer and label mom of None Of The Above Berlin, JOPLYN, performed in Austin for her very first time at Seismic Dance Event 5.0. While her busy schedule didn’t allow her to spend much time in the city, she certainly made an impact on those who were able to attend her ethereal and unique performance.
We were glad to have been able to catch her for an interview and learn more about her journey thus far and where she hopes to take it. A trained pianist and a prior poet, JOPLYN taught herself to combine the two art forms with her interest in electronic music – of course, living in Berlin can have that effect on people – to become the producer she is today. As she continues to develop her art form and tour the world, she also hopes to shed light on the importance of diversity in the music industry and how meaningful it is to see yourself represented on stage.
