Ground Control Touring is set to host its second Annual Abortion Access Benefit Series on January 20th, 2024, in a harmonious convergence of music and advocacy. The event will span five major cities—Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Nashville. The benefit is a dedicated effort to support bodily autonomy and legal, safe abortion access.
The lineup for each city is an impressive range of artists from a wide gamut of genres. Los Angeles, hosted at the Lodge Room, will feature the likes of Black Marble, Panther Modern, Sextile, and more incredibly talented alternative artists. Chicago’s Empty Bottle will host a small but mighty lineup comprising of Divino Niño, Macie Stewart, Melkbelly, Resavoir, and Is This Whit.
Bowery Ballroom, the New York City venue, will be bumping with the sounds of Chanel Beads, Donna Missal, DREA, and indie darlings such as Frankie Cosmos. Johnny Brenda’s in Philadelphia will welcome Florry, Frances Quinlan, Gladie, Poison Ruïn, and Radiator Hospital. Lastly, Nashville’s DRKMTTR will host performances by Brian Brown, Soccer Mommy, MSPAINT, and more.
Beyond the epic variety of music across five states, the events promise DJs, auctions, special guests, and even more beloved artists yet to be announced. As a committed concert series, 100% of the proceeds from ticket sales will go to NOISE FOR NOW, a non-profit organization specializing in reproductive justice.
NOISE FOR NOW is a national initiative founded in 2017. The non-profit focuses on connecting artists and entertainers with grassroots organizations dedicated to reproductive justice and abortion access. The organization has collaborated with 450 artists and entertainers, raising over 1.25 million dollars for partner organizations. An astonishing $500,000 was distributed in 2022 alone.
The initiative aims to make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals seeking reproductive healthcare by allocating funds raised from the benefit series to local independent abortion clinics and abortion funds in each region.
Tickets for the event dates have been on sale as of December 1st. Prospective attendees can purchase tickets for their chosen city and contribute to the cause through the official websites of the events for Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Nashville.
