Noah Cyrus has some exciting news for fans! From a budding tour to a brand-new album, there’s a lot to cover! Keep reading for all the info!
Noah Cyrus is here with her sophomore album, and she’s ready to show the world a more vulnerable side of her. It’s been a five-year gap since her last stellar studio album, The End of Everything. While she has released things in between, this is her newest iteration in her discography. Her latest work proves to be worth the wait and much more!
I WANT MY LOVED ONES TO GO WITH ME is full of heart and humility. Being rooted in Americana, indie folk, and country music, the album is an acclamation of everything Noah Cyrus holds dear tied into an otherworldly package. Paying homage to members of her family and nature, Cyrus delivers an immersive interpretation of country music throughout the album.
This is what Cyrus has to say about the album,
For a long time, I couldn’t really trust in my own choices. I had to learn how to make decisions for myself and make that transition into adulthood, but I’ve found who I am, I know who I am, and this record shows what I had inside me all this time. This album is me.
~ Noah Cyrus
Here is what she further has to say,
When I was a kid, I was so enamored with how each instrument came together with the beat to create a memorable moment in a song, like the outro chorus in ‘Don’t Put It All On Me’ and ‘New Country.’ I remember asking my father, ‘Dad, what’s that called?’ and he said, ‘Sissy, that’s called dynamics. I think of that every time I walk into a studio to make my own music. I’m always focused on sonics and dynamics.

“I Saw the Mountains” is the album opener, and it’s perfectly placed. The track tells a story of recognizing the beauty of nature. As a child of Tennessee and California, Noah was always outdoors and often on horseback. This song uses this introspective upbringing to deliver an overwhelming sense of vulnerability and nostalgia. Cyrus’s raw vocals cut through delicate acoustic guitar strums that’ll leave listeners humming for weeks. For something to make you think back on those times, getting grass stains on your knees, this is the song.
“Don’t Put It All On Me” is a track her brother Braison wrote for her. They even got Robin Pecknold of Fleet Foxes, one of Braison’s favorite bands, to join Cyrus. The duo performs an emotionally raw and broody duet as the instrumentation sweeps listeners away. The lyrics tell a story of familial tension and failing expectations. It’s a relatable track that many can empathize with and is well worth a listen.

While the album as a whole creates its unique aesthetic, “Apple Tree” perfectly embodies the album in one song. A melancholic piano melody plays as Cyrus sings, “Love is a bottomless pit.” Near the end, she unleashes a cathartic note before her grandfather Ron Cyrus takes the spotlight. He recites a hymn written by Eldon Lindsey Cyrus, Noah’s great-grandfather. In all, this track in particular has a familial, heartfelt connection that can be felt and heard by listeners.
She also brings forth the first song her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, ever wrote. “With You” is an electric guitar driven ballad about devotion. Noah Cyrus uses her unique vocals to create a heartfelt ballad as a tribute to her father. Her emotion plows through as she sings, “Just listen in the wind and know that I’m your friend.” Cyrus cites her father being one of her biggest influences. He directed her toward many great artists and inspirations. This song is a perfect addition to this album not only for its meaning, but also its addictive tunes.
