GiGi Rich’s Single “Cycle” is Pop Rock Perfection
With fiery red hair and a voice to match, rising pop artist GiGi Rich is undeniably on her way to becoming the ‘next big thing’. Since beginning her journey as a singer and songwriter, Rich has now landed multiple placements within television and film -as well as with a major label artist. Most notably, Rich’s music has been featured in publications such as Galore, Parade, and LA Weekly. This has garnered her attention across the country, and earned her a dedicated following on both Instagram and Spotify.

Most recently, the east-coast recording artist released her latest single, “Cycle”. The song draws inspiration from the roller-coaster of emotions that come in tow with being stuck in a toxic relationship. As described by Rich, the song is about “feeling stuck in a very toxic relationship, and always going back and forth about whether to stay or not”. Written in collaboration with Rich’s friend and musician Savannah Sanabia, “Cycle” is a beautiful, conflicting homage to the perils of young love.
The track itself is reminiscent of early 00’s pop punk bands such as Paramore, beginning with electric guitar and prominently-featured drums. However, the track takes a turn towards true pop at about 45 seconds in. Rich’s vocals are incredibly versatile, allowing them to adapt easily to the transition from punk to pop and back again. It’s no surprise, however, that the quality of production is so outstanding on “Cycle”; Rich had collaborated with producer Aaron Osborne -whose previous projects had been featured on Spotify’s popular “New Music Friday” playlist.
