Here are our daily picks for you featuring Lao Tizer, Kadaver, The Taxpayers and more!

1. “At War With The Dogcatchers” – The Taxpayers

First up is “At War With The Dogcatchers,” a sentimental single by Oregon-based experimental punk band The Taxpayers. Inspired by a late friend’s pet who was caught by a literal dogcatcher before finding a new home, the song seeks to shed light on the positive faces of tragedy. Instrumentally, the new release features acoustic guitars, strings and trumpets. Stay on the lookout for The Taxpayers’ highly anticpated album, Circle Breaker, out March 21, 2025.

2. “Kat’s Groove” – Lao Tizer

Colorado-born, LA-based keyboardist Lao Tizer creates sound like never before in “Kat’s Groove,” a jam-worthy blend of infectious keyboard riffs, jazzy saxophone runs and dynamic percussion hits. The song itself was sparked by Tizer’s then 9-month-old daughter, who began dancing after he sung her the snazzy melody. Capping at just over eight minutes, this piece is the perfect soundtrack for your morning commute. If you like what you hear, check out the rest of Tizer’s new album, Amplify.

3. “I Just Want To Be A Sound” – Kadavar

Changing genre gears is “I Just Want To Be A Sound,” an energetic track by Berlin-based rock band Kadavar. Beginning with an exhilarating electric guitar solo, the new release is peppered with an upbeat bassline and uplifting vocals. Looking ahead, the song can be found on Kadavar’s forthcoming album, I Just Want To Be A Sound, set for release May 16, 2025.

4. “I Would Die 4 U” – Lauren Auder, Wendy & Lisa

A euphoric tribute to the trans community, “I Would Die 4 U” by Lauren Auder and Wendy & Lisa is a radiant new rendition of Prince’s classic hit. Featuring sweeping synths, lush vocals and rising percussion lines, the song was produced by Red Hot, a nonprofit committed to AIDS awareness. “I Would Die 4 U” appears on the organization’s newest 46-track album, TRAИƧA, a collaborative project featuring over 100 artists celebrating queer joy.

5. “Car Crash” – Sean Solomon

Closing out today’s selection is “Car Crash,” an intimate, stream-of-consciousness single by LA-based songwriter and animator Sean Solomon. Inspired by his first car accident, the song features layered vocals, warm acoustic guitar fingerpickings, and laid-back brass harmonies. Looking ahead, Solomon will perform at a series of venues over March and April. Find ticket information here.

Welcome to Monday! Start your week off on a high note by listening to these five new releases.
