Here are our daily picks for you featuring Cat Matthews, Fischer King, Alexa Perl and more!

1. “Say It Again” – Cassadee Pope

“Say it Again” by GRAMMY-nominated, Platinum-certified singer-songwriter Cassadee Pope is infectious at best, blending riveting pop punk with country-esque instrumentals. The song tackles themes of relationship insecurity, reflecting on how the past can impact our perception of the present moment. Although moving on can be challenging, there is so much resilience and courage to be attained. These themes are prevalent in Pope’s new deluxe edition album, Hereditary, a 15-track project that pays homage to the legacies that past generations leave behind for the future. From love, betrayal, self-discovery, family dynamics and more, each song highlights another facet of the human experience.

2. “Bet” – Fischer King

Up next is “Bet,” the latest existential crisis alt-pop single by the multi-talented Fischer King. Known for writing, recording, producing and mixing all his own music, King experiments freely with layers of punk rock and hip-hop elements. Driving synths and captivating guitar solos continue to add waves of intensity to the track. “‘Bet’ is about that sinking feeling you get when you realize that the relationship of two people you care for is going to fall apart,” says King. “You know the mess is going to bleed into everything around them and things are going to get rough.” Check out King’s upcoming EP, Rough Odds, set to be released on Nov. 15, 2024 via Perception Records.

3. “Happiness is Sad” – Cat Matthews

Los Angeles-born country singer Cat Matthews released her latest, heartbreaking single, “Happiness is Sad.” Interlaced with vulnerability, soft vocals and melancholic instrumentals, the track is set behind the lens of a person who feels profound sadness after every second of joy because they can no longer share their happiness with the person they love most. “They say things will be just fine / But I’m feeling so blue / Because happiness is sad without you,” Matthews sings. The song was released in tandem with another piece, “Greener Pastures,” which continues themes of bittersweet nostalgia.

4. “What You Do” – Alexa Perl

Filled with contagious rhythms and lyrics that are bound to leave listeners hypnotized on the dance floor, “What You Do” by LA-based DJ and producer Alexa Perl brings newfound heat to Christina Aguilera’s famous “Genie in a Bottle.” Building upon the original track’s passionate vocals and mesmerizing melodies, Perl weaves her own house finesse through each intricate layer. Drums, guitars, bass and strings all contribute to the single’s infectious dancefloor energy. Check out Perl’s other club releases, such as “Give Me More” and “Say My Name.”

5. “Talk To Me” – Beau

“Talk To Me” by New York City duo Beau, is a track that exemplifies that helpless feeling of wanting to talk to someone who won’t pick up the phone. Beau, the collaborative project between artists Heather Goldin and Emma Jenney, is known for entwining raw emotion with indie pop elements, like vintage guitars and synthesizers. The track’s accompanying music video finds Goldin and Jenney simultaneously conflicted about confronting the other, with spare shots of them speaking face to face. “Talk To Me” can be found on the duo’s latest album release, Girl Cried Wolf, out today via Immortal Records.
