As we strive for a better year than the last, we hope these tracks will bring your week off to a great start!
“The Wolves at My Door,” by Nanuk: Simple and stripped down to the bare acoustics, this track embraces a pastoral nature and dreams of simpler times.
“Bring Me Close” by Mindy Gledhill: Bringing her first commercial track since 2019, this artist cozies up in an intimate piano ballad and shares its simplicity in bold lyrics and sweet vocals.
“Better Life,” by Joshua Radin: As the first single toward their latest album, this track soothes the heart with its powerful lyrics and upbeat guitar and drum beats. This artist’s live presence is both comforting and bold. As my last concert before the lockdowns began last year, this song popped onto my radar as it reminded me of life before the chaos began.
“Becoming Young,” by Reverie: This upbeat folk track confesses love and the anxieties in a new relationship. The song was written in those adrenalized moments, when in a relationship the parties involved are just getting their feet wet, teetering between experiencing infatuation and love.
“Surrender,” by Shingaling: This psychedelic rock track introduces some soothing female vocals and a cool beat to bring peace in the life of every soul.
“Dare Me,” by the E’ville Experience: Another female led rock track, this song is the first track of the band’s upcoming EP, this song speaks out against the injustices that were brought to light over the last year.
Shifting the tone, this EDM track features beautiful vocals and a crunchy beat that stimulates the mind with guitar and electronic elements.
“Man’s World,” by MARINA (Remix by MUNA): Concluding our features this week is an official remix of MARINA’s 2020 single. The beat switches things up and features a band that has won awards in their debut album as they create a safe space for otherness in their music.
