Vienna-based indie-pop artist Felicia Lu recently released a 6-track EP Relations that details the stages of a relationship. After making it to the finals of the RTL TalentShow: Rising Star in 2014 and to the finals of the German preselection for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2017, she’s been working on and releasing her original music. Felicia Lu is multi-talented when it comes to music in all forms. She plays several instruments, writes her own songs, produces, and sings. Explaining her EP more, the artist states,
Six songs all about different stages of relationships. The lovey – dovey get-to-know phase over breakups to feelings a la “I don’t need nobody else, I’m all good all by myself”. I would love to tell you that I had this grand plan of creating those specific songs right from the beginning , but honestly I wasn’t quite sure what the EP was going to be, as I was simply creating songs for situations that I was going through. Looking back at it, it is like listening through my past year, with all the experiences I made put into an EP for the world to listen.
Her third track, “In Your Hands,” is an all-encompassing and emotive piano ballad about falling deeply in love with someone. The energetic artist explores how it feels to be willing to give someone your all – to be willing to completely trust them as you build towards your future together. Felicia complements the swelling orchestral composition, complete with piano and strings, with her soaring vocals. The production is nothing short of stunningly evocative. It brings listeners into the emotions that Felicia reflects in her lyrics.
