Babe, wake up; it’s time for Florence + The Machine’s new era.

There’s nothing like waking up one morning and seeing the first post from Florence Welch’s socials; announcing a new album cycle on the horizon. This time it’s the sixth album, releasing on Halloween. The title track, “Everybody Scream” is out now, along with pre-orders for the new album.

Florence Welch wrote and produced the album over the past two years with a close-knit circle of collaborators including Aaron Dessner, Mitski, and Mark Bowen of IDLES. Bowen also makes a special appearance in the video.

Throughout the track, Florence’s voice cascades along an array of theatrical instrumentals. The visuals inspire chills with the music; directed by Autumn de Wilde.

After needing lifesaving surgery on the Dance Fever Tour, Florence’s recovery took her down the path of spiritual mysticism, witchcraft and folk horror. The album is rumored to explore these themes, as well as the expression of the body’s limitations. Other tones tread through womanhood, partnership, aging, dying, what it means to be “healed” and exposing the murky in the mundane.

Across five albums, Florence has become one of the most monumental artists of a generation. Known for her earth-shattering live shows and singular, iconic voice, Florence has sold out shows and headlined festivals the entire world over. She has collaborated and shared stages with icons—The Rolling Stones, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift among them—and published a book of lyrics, poetry and drawings, Useless Magic.

No matter what Florence creates, it sets the tone for an entire voice of fans who cling to every part of what she creates. And we are some of those fans, easily.
