Enjoy a “Slow Tempo” with Mase Well

After an extended break with my last releases being “Fish Bowl” critically successful in April 2022 and “Lightning” in October 2022, I stepped away to live my life and regroup with myself. I had been battling depressive mood swings and mental health concerns while in the midst of getting engaged in the fall of 2023. After time away, I reconnected with myself and felt like this was an offering that raised the level from my previous releases. It felt natural and a return to finding myself creatively. “Slow Tempo” is just a feeling, a want, a desire whilst living in Manhattan. Almost an out of body slowing of time, to really see the world, myself and my life unfold.

Mac Miller, Childish Gambino and Tyler the Creator are some of those artists who aren’t here for a long time or always the most popular, but their influence is damn near forever at this point. Mase Well is another child of these artist that I’ve found. At least, he’s a child of alt hip-hop and rap, down to the fact that they both spit introspective honest hip-hop. His latest is a beautiful cut of a song, “Slow Tempo” has a lot of elements to enjoy, from the boombap beat, the melodies, the backup chorus’ harmonies and the lyricism that are well presented here. If you need a feel-good track, listen to this track and his other work HERE on Spotify.
