Emilia Tarrant Delivers Her New Single and Music Video for “Worst Boyfriend Award”
Up and coming musician, Emilia Tarrant, released her newest single, “Worst Boyfriend Award,” and its pairing music video on Jun. 07 via YouTube and several other music platforms, in anticipation of her debut album coming later this year.
Tarrant is setting the stage for her new era of music with the release of “Worst Boyfriend Award.” Balancing between compassionate lyrics and punk synth-pop instrumentals, Tarrant presents frustrations of seeing close friends continuously get hurt by their partners–connecting to many listeners.
Tarrant captures this storyline in both the lyrics and the visuals, presented in the music video. She plays a third party that oversees the toxic relationship her friend is trapped in. Through her role as a bystander, Tarrant portrays the emotions that all parties–including herself–are faced with.
Speaking on the concept and creation of the music video, Tarrant shares:
“Tom Knibbs [director] and I wanted to create a video that was a direct visual of the song…We created a number of scenes that portrayed the emotions of the girl…”
