New York based techno producer Layton Giordani gave Dom Dolla’s hit record “girl$” his own personal spin with a high-octane remix, promising to set dance floors ablaze.

Inspired by Danny Tenaglia, Giordani discovered his passion for electronic music as a teenager, embarking on a musical journey of his own. Today, he is a world renowned techno-producer, garnering attention from the likes of Green Velvet and Adam Beyer through his distinct sonic signature. In cooperation with aforementioned artists, Giordani’s 80’s inspired remix “Party All The Time” reached the #1 spot on Beatport. Likewise, in collaboration with Anyma, his recent remix “Last Night” made it to #1 overall on Beatport and is currently receiving over 100,000 streams per day on Spotify.

About his “girl$” remix, Giordani says,

“When Dom first sent me ‘girl$’,” says Layton, “I told him this was my favourite record by him. The vocals felt so original and music-forward. A few days later, he reached out and asked me to remix it. Without hesitation, I put my spin on it 24 hours later—and we’ve been playing it everywhere since.”

Giordani’s remix of the track captures the high-octane heart of the original, but adds on energetic synths and a luscious bassline for the ultimate summer hit on a night out. The remix starts out with a vibrant techno intro slowly building in intensity. It masterfully combines synths, percussion and a mysterious-sounding melody, before stopping for a second, as the vocals set in, making the beat return with full force.

“Girls don’t need nobody”

We’re treated to an atmosphere that’s perfect for any festival, or club party. Lyrically, the song describes what presumably is a dilemma between a girl, her ex and someone new she met. She details the situation as the three exchanged looks, feeling the pain on her ex’ face as she dances with someone else. As the music sets back in, it feels like everyone dances the night away in ecstasy.
