The third iteration of Deep Tropics Music Art & Style Festival returns to Nashville, TN on August 28 and 29, 2020. Deep Tropics is a carefully curated dance music experience at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park in Nashville’s beloved Germantown neighborhood. In the face of unprecedented growth as a city, Deep Tropics has reconnected Nashville and welcomed artists and fans from across the world.
No event in the Southeast has created what Deep Tropics has. A boutique festival in many ways, the lineup is magnetic and imaginative and the open-air setting is nothing short of spectacular. A giant terraced outdoor amphitheater overlooks the Tennessee State Capitol and communally centers the site with multiple stages. Add to the mix some of Nashville’s favorite food and beverage vendors, craft retailers, live art activations, circus-esque performers, and more … you’ve got a two-day oasis in the heart of the music appreciation capital of the country.
The scale of their stage design production will take the music to stratospheric levels. a giant multi-LED-paneled pyramid will house the main amphitheater talent, ensuring every viewpoint is perfect. Intricate lasers and choreographed lights will illuminate the trees that light the park. The venue is less than a mile from the auxiliary party locations, downtown Nashville, and some of the city’s coolest neighborhoods. Deep Tropics has created an entire program of offsite workshops, activities, and opportunities to meet the artists in intimate settings throughout the weekend.
Sustainability initiatives are at the core of every part of Deep Tropics. We divert significant quantities of waste from entering landfills and recycling centers through our organic compostables program. In 2019, recycling partners helped channel approximately 4,700 pounds of purely recyclable plastic, glass, and organics back into local environmental efforts. As a 501(c)(3), Deep Tropics partnered with Greenways for Nashville to donate ticket proceeds to help build parks and greenways.
Safety and intention will be at the heart of this year’s event. We plan to follow city and state protocols for group events. Our extra safety precautions and the 5,000 capacity limit within the expansive, six-acre outdoor venue will promote space between attendees. For Deep Tropics’ full-tailored safety plan, please see here. We invite everyone to be part of the magic this August 28 and 29.
