As an American, it’s a bit strange to be abroad on one of the most popular days of the year – let alone Independence Day. Yet, Roskilde has a special way of making us feel right at home when we are able to attend. Amazing American headliners + supporting acts provided a great space for anyone to join in celebrating.
Best Acts of Day 2
1. Travis Scott
Travis Scott provided the party that made the enormous Danish festival feel like home on 4th of July. He brought so much energy to the stage and an unforgettable presence. The crowd was going just as wild as him, which lead him to perform “Highest in the Room” prior to it being released.
2. Robert Plant
Robert Plant was definitely a headliner who confirmed any fan to attend the festival. Being the lead singer from Led Zeppelin, there were fans of all ages enjoying the show which consisted of his new music as well as hits from the days with the band.
The performance was energetic and impressive.
3. Brockhampton
It’s safe to say, Brockhampton will bring an absolute party anywhere they perform. Being a massive experimental boyband, there is a lot going on when they’re on the stage and the music is equally as exciting.
4. Denzel Curry
Known for rapping with a fury, Denzel Curry had the crowd going completely crazy during his performance. Taking the stage during the day time, sometimes it can be a challenge to get the crowd going – but not for this hip hop guru. His intense tones and exciting lyrics kept the audience completely engaged and losing their mind – particularly to his hit, “SUMO”.
5. MØ
This was my third time seeing MØ, the second time seeing her perform in Denmark, and it was so special to see her take the main stage this year at Roskilde. Being a Dane herself, she has been playing at Roskilde and many festivals around Denmark for quite some time now. To see her rock the main stage was so heart-warming and sentimental, and a great reminder of how far she’s come as she sang through her discography.
