Dance The Night Away With Our Top Singles This Week

Now that the warmer weather is coming around, it’s the perfect time to start going out with friends and hitting the town without freezing your limbs off in your favorite club outfit. This week, we’re showcasing our favorite house and techno singles that are perfect for getting ready, a pregame, or even just dancing around the house by yourself. Though this genre of music is not my typical day-to-day listen, I couldn’t help but start jamming once I heard these soon-to-be iconic tracks. Keep reading to see our picks for the week!

“Saturday Love” by Matroda and Dino DZ

On April 7th, Matroda and Dino DZ released their “Saturday Love” collaboration under Insomniac Records. Using a sample of Cherelle and Alexander O’Neal’s 1985 track by the same name, Matroda and Dino DZ create an amazing remix that is perfect for dancing. Matroda, a classically trained producer, was inspired by 1980s soul music while producing this track and collaborated with Dino DZ, known for making funky tracks with catchy vocal samples. This interpolation of “Saturday Love” is the perfect mix of house and R&B genres, creating a smooth yet exciting song that works every single day of the week. Keep up to date with Matroda’s Instagram account for new releases, and check out Dino DZ’s Spotify to hear more music like this!

“Voodoo” by Gorgon City

Electronic duo Gorgon City has finally released another single, “Voodoo”, which will be featured on their upcoming fourth album. “Voodoo” combines light, airy vocals with hard-hitting bass and drums to create a juxtaposing but still smooth mix that makes you feel like there’s “some kind of voodoo” making you need to start dancing. Gorgon City is currently on the festival circuit, with dates at Lollapalooza, Tomorrow Land, and a sixteen-week residency at Amnesia in Ibiza. The UK duo is continuously rising, and this new single will make them a club favorite. Check out their Ibiza residency here, and make sure to check out their other music, as they’re definitely a dance duo that needs to be watched.

“Dirty Secret” by Dombresky

Releasing under the D4 D4NCE label, Dombresky has just dropped his new club banger, “Dirty Secret”. Quentin Dombres, a french producer better known as Dombresky, switches it up a little on “Dirty Secret”, a much more bass-driven song compared to his past piano-driven tracks. The DJ even shared the story of how this song came to be on his Instagram account, saying it came from how a friend of his, nicknamed ‘dirty secret’, met his now-girlfriend. Dombresky is joining the lineup for EDC this year in Las Vegas, alongside iconic headliners like Martin Garrix, Zedd, and Kaytranada in celebration of EDC’s 30th anniversary. Follow Dombresky on his Instagram and Facebook accounts, and check out the new release at the link above.

“Everything” by Darby

Darby, an Australian producer, has just released his first single on San Holo’s label bitbird. The new single, “Everything”, combines hyper-pop vocals with a futuristic remix that makes it obvious he’s worked alongside icon San Holo in the past. Darby has said this is one of his first attempts at the UK garage genre but he still kept his iconic colorful house sound while exploring a new area of music. The new release even made it to Spotify’s “Fresh Finds” playlist, garnering a lot of attention from house music-lovers and those who may not be as familiar with the genre alike. The 22-year-old producer is one to watch, as he’s quickly making waves in the electronic music scene across the world.

“Killing Me” by Aluna and Tsha
Last, but certainly not least, is Aluna and TSHA’s new collaboration, “Killing Me”. This is one of my personal favorite picks of the week, as I love Aluna’s vocals alongside the upcoming producer/DJ TSHA. The song has a lot of funk to it with a piano and bass-driven track, creating a super catchy track that is perfect for any mood. Aluna Francis has a voice that’s instantly recognizable, as she originally got her start as part of the AlunaGeorge duo, releasing house hits like “You Know You Like It” and “Superstar”. “Killing Me” is sure to be a hit, already being named Hottest Record of the Week by Danny Howard on BBC Radio 1. Aluna has confirmed a new album coming out later this year, and TSHA is definitely an artist to watch. Watch TSHA’s Instagram for news about her current tour, and check out Aluna’s account on Instagram to find out when her new album is on the way!

This week’s picks are certain to make you get up and dance, whether you’re at home or getting ready for a night out with friends. All of these songs are definite club bangers, and I can’t wait to see where these artists are headed. Watch this space, same time next week, to find out our next picks for top singles of the week!
