Here are our daily picks for you featuring Nana Atta, Killer Mike, Michigander and more!

1. “Peace of Mind” – Michigander

Michigan-based indie rock artist Michigander has unleashed his latest hit, “Peace of Mind.” Instrumentally, the track is full of dynamic drums, ambient synths and lush guitars. “‘Peace of Mind’ is a song about living rich on minimum wage,” explains Jason Singer, the face behind Michigander. “It’s about how we as humans will never be satisfied with what we have and no matter how many goals we accomplish, we still will always want more.” Michigander is currently on tour across the U.S., with the release of his titular album, Michigander, on the horizon for a Feb. 7, 2025 release. Find more information here.

2. “Kuwe” – MoBlack, Nana Atta

Up next is “Kuwe,” an invigorating Afro house collab between Italian DJ, producer and record label owner MoBlack and South African artist Nana Atta. The new single is wrapped in layers of emotional piano motifs, propulsive bass rhythms and soaring, atmospheric synths. Uplifting in nature, “Kuwe” takes inspiration from Atta’s expertise in “African sound therapy.” The combination of both artists’ unique styles make this track a contemporary homage to tradition.

3. “work friends” – Jackson Lundy

New York-born, Los-Angeles-based R&B and jazz singer-songwriter Jackson Lundy shares a slice of vulnerability with his new heartfelt release, “work friends.” Perfect for any hopeless romantic, the lyrics explore what it would be like to yearn for a coworker in a committed relationship. Lundy explains how he wrote the song based off of fantasies he’d conjure up while working in a restaurant kitchen. “work friends” can be found on Lundy’s latest 10-track album, PEACHY KEEN. Take a listen today!

4. “Nobody Knows” – Killer Mike

Atlanta, Georgia-born rapper and activist Killer Mike shares “Nobody Knows,” a track full of reflection, emotion and sheer ambition. The underlying beat is subtle, with a steady bassline and melancholic piano motifs adding onto the song’s overall instrumentation. Vocally, Killer Mike spits his lyrics out with a certain rhythmic cadence that blends with the chorus’s gospel-like vocals. For another taste of this artist’s musicality, check out his latest album, SONGS FOR SINNERS & SAINTS, released in collaboration with his gospel choir, The Mighty Midnight Revival.

5. “Dear Fren” – Smino

Last up on today’s selection is “Dear Fren” by St. Louis, Missouri-based rapper Smino. Written as an ode to his late grandmother, the 33-year-old artist shares some of his most recent life achievements, such as performing at Coachella. Smino’s smooth vocal flow complements the track’s on-and-off backing track, which flows to a unique beat and adds to the overall atmosphere. “Dear Fren” can be found on his long-awaited album, Maybe in Nirvana, a 10-track collection of music that explores themes like love, resilience and self-discovery.
