Come Feel The BUZZ of New EP
If you want to feel transcendence, then you have come to the right place. Los Angeles-based artist BUZZ has released her self-produced EP On Matters of Searching. It includes eight tracks and each one creates a collage of life beyond human society and a philosophical perspective on time, space, and the meaning of life. With song titles such as “Reality,” “Universe,” and “Subconscious,” we will be taken into a trip that will leave us with an appreciation for the atmosphere around us.
The artist was also inspired by the scientific nature of our world due to the fact that the EP title is accredited to ancient Greek scientist Democritus, who was known for an accurate theory of the universe developed in 300 BC.
The birth of the EP took place during BUZZ’s nature trip to the mountains where she was inspired to discover the deeper aspects of our world and to escape reality for a limited amount of time. While promoting her work, BUZZ hoped that the listeners share the same experience as she.
“Every millisecond from the lyrics, to the production, is a fiber of me that leaked out and helped me feel a little more whole. I’m hoping it gives people a little bit of what it’s given me–an escape from present reality, a curiosity of what’s beyond our comprehension, a rebellion from social constructs, and ultimately, a connection to the divine parts of us. It’s ever-evolving with each listen. It’s constantly putting me in different scenes in my head – scenes that all have a tone of wonder and awe for nature, its unknowns, and the mystery of consciousness.”

“Different Sun” is an atmospheric, pulsating synth romance that deals with two people that leave post-apocalyptic Earth and start again in a new society with one another. BUZZ has described it as a “love song from an escape pod.” The accompanying music video includes visuals that are reminiscent of a dream. Continuing with the theme of love songs, “Statues” is an ethereal lamentation whose musical instrumentations transcend time between the future and the ancient times with the use of synths and rain sticks. The lyrics are written from the perspective of Aphrodite as she laments that her lover is from a different time.
The heavy, drum-influenced “Reality” finds the artist contemplating life and morality with lyrics such as “How could I forget reality starts in my head.” The slow-burning synth ballad “Tears” includes layered backing vocals and organs. It is a heartbreak anthem that mourns the loss of a relationship and hoping that they will return.
“Universe” is an avant-garde electronica track that contemplates the threads that bring all of us together while using nature-inspired lyricism. BUZZ has acknowledged that this song serves as a way of accepting the vast universe.
“I think about these big concepts a lot, somehow they put me at ease. I love seeing the synchronicities in nature from the way humans are formed to the way stars are formed, the way all things can be zoomed in on to infinitely discover more things and vice versa zooming out. I’m happily burdened by an emotional reaction to the never-ending space that we’re suspended in atop this little magical rock swirling through the galaxy. ‘Universe’ is about all life, and its limitlessness.“

The closing track “Subconscious” is the pizzicato synth ballad that builds up to pulsating beats and the perfect spot to continue the exploration of the universe.
Music has served as a huge part of BUZZ’s universe as she has been trained in classical music and songwriting since she was as young as five years old. In addition, she has worked for big names such as Katy Perry, Tove Lo, Kylie Minogue, and Bebe Rexha. Office Magazine praised her previous release “Misfit” by calling it “explosive.”
By releasing her debut EP, BUZZ is creating a universe of her own that will attract listeners to join her on growing the society.
