This Friday, March 28, Grammy-nominated DJ/Producer Chris Lake teams up with rising talent Ragie Ban, dropping their long-awaited single, “Toxic.” Sampling Bell Biv DeVoe’s 1990 classic, “Poison,” the duo adds a nostalgic layer to this soon-to-be club classic. The pair are elevating what audiences know as techno and house music by creating their own fresh blend of the genres.

Lake has been teasing the song during his recent performances at Ocaso Music Festival, Sammy Virji’s LA show and Concourse. After building anticipation, Lake has finally released his new song that appeals to not only house music lovers but techno and old-school groove lovers as well.

Over the span of two decades, Lake has quickly become one of house music’s most compelling figures. He is a staple in the club and dance scene, with popular hits like “Summertime Blues” and “Beggin’.” His upcoming performances include headlining Coachella’s first Thursday Night Campgrounds, a performance just for campers at the festival.

Lake is also the founder of Black Book Records, a label that has become a platform for emerging talent. Artists such as Cloonee, Miane, and Mochakk have gained widespread attention through Black Book, and the brand has expanded into its own event series and even a fashion collaboration. Lake’s passion isn’t just about making people dance, he is dedicated to shaping and uplifting the culture of electronic music itself.

It gives me this increased love of the power of a single song and the effect that it can have on anyone’s life.

Ragie Ban represents the next wave of global electronic artists. At just 22 years old, Ragie is already making serious moves in the scene with a genre-fluid approach that pulls from techno, house, and beyond.

With standout remixes like David Squillace’s “Let’s Go Deep” (Ragie Ban & Enne Remix) and original tracks like “Dangerous” and “Habanera,” Ragie is building a reputation for crafting bold, dancefloor-ready productions. Backed by influential DJs and respected record labels, his trajectory is only going upward.

With “Toxic,” Lake and Ragie Ban deliver a high-octane anthem that bridges generations of dance music. It’s a collaboration that blends experience and innovation: proof that when you combine an industry icon with a hungry new talent, the results can be electric. Listen to “Toxic” below!
