Toxic relationships are addictive. On “you watch me break,” brooke gets real about the seductive thrill of seeking someone who’s bound to shatter your heart. Craving something that will hurt you, and having fun in the meantime.

Released today, “you watch me break” is what you blare while you romanticize your doomed relationships. It’s the epitome of chaos and catharsis in one. The alt, synth-pop track cuts deep, blending shadowy yet shimmery synths. brooke’s vocals are brooding, backed by a pulsating beat for a hypnotic sound.

Oh your tone so rough

Expressionless and blunt

Thought I told you you could take what you want,

But you never take enough

~ “you watch me break”

The Boston-raised, Brooklyn-based rising star does it all, with self-producing, composing, writing, and arranging her work. This single marks a new collaboration with Finland-based music producer and engineer Zone Diem — a match made in heaven for the alt-pop scene.

After first releasing music in 2020 during the pandemic, a quick hiatus helped brooke explore her identity, style, and sound, she says. The artist has channeled her explorations of queerness and a whirlwind of emotions into music you’ll have on repeat, with singles like “All I Ever Wanted” and “Alarming.”

Soon, brooke’s debut EP Away Today will bless our playlists. Don’t miss out on the next big thing with brooke. Stay connected on Spotify, Instagram, and all major streaming platforms here
