BRADEN LAM PERSONAL RAW SONG “WHITE DRESS” OUT NOW
Canadian indie-folk artist, Braden Lam released “white dress” as a part two of his video series that began with his song “don’t let go.” Cowritten with Newfoundland duo Quote The Raven, Jordan Coaker “white dress” is a heavy hitter track about unrequited love and fantasizing about just one last time. The song was actually written about attending a best friend’s wedding however you wish it was you marrying them. The video series story picks up with the main character showing up to their ex’s wedding conflicted if they should even go inside but break out into a choreographed dance before the ex appears to share in a “last dance.” Braden does a beautiful job painting the story before even watching the video with his soft angelic vocals. After watching the video, it really connects that story with imagery. A song worth listening to with a perfectly crafted music video to give you all the visuals of the pain shared throughout the tune.
“My strongest songwriting on display with a very distinct topic to navigate. The song is a grieving of what’s been lost: love that was never reciprocated. Now, after being released from the power held over them, they can commit to a way forward without that person in their life.”
