Manchester, TN came alive with creativity, community, and good vibes as Bonnaroo came to town. The festival was a solid four days of stellar performances, and art! If you missed this year’s fun, or have FOMO- don’t worry, we’ve got the lowdown on this incredible weekend.
Thursday June 13th:
Not even the hot Tennessee sun was stopping festival-goers from making the most of opening day. Thousands of attendees swarmed the gates of the Farm, eager to what’s to come. With the stacked up lineup of the weekend, we can’t blame them. Thursday kicked off with a bang. Headlining the What Stage was Pretty Lights. Derek Vincent Smith, and his full band put on a phenomenal performance of intricate pieces and of course, ‘pretty lights’.
Over at This Tent, BigXThaPlug got the crowd movin’ and groovin’. The Dallas Rapper has quite the stage presence and knows how to work a crowd.
Switching things up on the What Stage, Gwar came out for a wild performance. The gore metal band came in and pulled out all the stops at their set.
Friday, June 16th:
After the perfect opening day, attendees gathered for Day 2 ready to soak in everything that Bonnaroo had to offer. All eyes were on Post Malone as he headlined at What Stage. Putting up the country twang for most of the night, he surprised fans by sharing the stage with Billy Strings, a Bluegrass artist.
However, Lizzy McAlpine, T-Pain, SVDDENDEATH, and Seven Lions also lined the charts for Friday.
Saturday, June 17th:
As the weekend trailed along, the excitement continued. Dashboard Confessional‘s Chris Carrabba mixed things up this year with an emo SuperJam. Carrabba brought along friends and made this SuperJam one to remember. Fans swooned as artists covered all the beloved emo throwback jams like “That’s What You Get,” “Helena,” and many more!
Aside from the SuperJam, Saturday’s lineup was pretty killer with some greats like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Melanie Martinez, Diplo, Sean Paul, and Ethel Cain.
Sunday, June 16th:
Even though the weekend was coming to a close, Bonnaroo kept the party going. Headlining the last day of the festival was no other than, Fred Again. The British artist is a genius with a DJ deck and hyped up the crowd with his skills.
Heating up the stage earlier in the day was Chappell Roan. The magnificent pop star drew in quite the crowd on Sunday. Some fans even camped out all night for the perfect spot. Totally understandable!
Chappell Roan isn’t the only queen to dominate stages on Sunday. Megan the Stallion wowed the crowd with her usual high energy performance. We must admit, maybe we had FOMO too, just a little bit.
Bonnaroo had some hard hitters to fill the last day, but some other fan favorites were Ashnikko, Taking Back Sunday, and Carly Rae Jespen.
As the sun set over Bonnaroo on Sunday, attendees were already dreaming of next year, and so are we. Officially in the rearview, this is just a small bit of what makes Bonnaroo so special.
