Bad Flamingo: Open The Gates

The masked duo Bad Flamingo has released a new video for their song Open the Gates. The video features a kitschy, but well done, spaghetti western vibe with the two women of Bad Flamingo wearing western style hats, shirts, and masks. There is a gold background studio set created with a golden horse model moving slowly in the background. Overall, the vibe of the music video is moody and mysterious, with the women never showing their faces, which seems fitting considering the fact that finding much about the duo is hard. The grainy footage shot on Super 8 film fits perfectly with the western inspired guitar riffs and overall bad-ass aesthetic of the band. The fleeting nature of the Super 8 film and sharp cuts fit perfectly with the dreamy nature of the Open the Gates, and I’m excited to see what else Bad Flamingo comes out with.
