ASHLYNN MALIA RELEASES NEW SINGLE “LUCKY GUESS”
Los Angeles singer and songwriter Ashlynn Malia has shared a new song “Lucky Guess” via EARMILK. This artist introduces you into her creative world and shares music that helps you understand her mind. Ashlynn has a voice that perfectly combines rasp, husk and soft tones with gentle instruments in the background. “Lucky Guess” has lyricism with breathtaking production. Diving into her personally deep feelings but showcasing them in an uplifting way. The new track is for anyone who bottles up their feelings pretending that they aren’t there. The music starts off slow and low then roars into a higher soundscape. Almost like the moment your feelings finally come up and you can no longer ignore them. An uplifting track with some not so uplifting lyrics. In a way, it is an oxymoron. Happy on the outside but sad on the inside. Ashlynn pretty much sings about being able to predict her own heartbreak before it even happens. “Lucky Guess” is her way of coping with knowing that pain is inevitable. She states that she knows what’s going to happen, she has already prepped herself for the outcome therefore when it happens she has that, “I told you so” moment. Poor Ashlynn, sending lots of love girl and hoping that you have more positive outcomes than the crappy ones you have been dealt.
“While making the song, I wanted it to sound like the feeling of keeping a happy face on while your heart’s breaking. The track doesn’t sound like it should have those lyrics. It sounds like it should be uplifting, but the lyrics tell a different story.”
Ashlynn Malia

Ashlynn has been writing music since she was 10 years old finding her voice. She is a multi-talented artist with an amazing range and a truly captivating stage presence. The artists that inspire her are Lorde, FKA Twigs and really tries to set herself apart with her honest storytelling. Her debut EP rather be alone was released on June 25, 2021 which included her single “desperate.” This EP was Ashlynn’s way of connecting with her social anxiety and human connection. Using all the emotions she feels when experiencing these things to release into her music. Definitely an artist worth checking out!
“If making those connections means enduring all the overthinking, insecurity, growing pains, abandonment, rejection, questioning of my own self-worth and blurring of my mental vision – then I’d rather be alone where I’m safe from that type of pain.“
