Ashe the LA-based singer-songwriter has shared her new music video for “Not Mad Anymore.” The track appears on her critically acclaimed debut album Ashlyn.

The music video was directed by Jason Lester who previously has collaborated with Ashe on her other videos. The video aims to pay homage to the legendary film musicals of the ’40s and ’50s. The video for “Not Mad Anymore” also takes a page from the iconic Judy Garland in Get Happy, Ashe is seen mastering a delicate interpretative tap-dancing sequence, accompanied by 4 dancers. The video strikes a perfect balance of nostalgia complemented with a modern twist, Ashe also incorporates traditionalist old Hollywood visuals, combined with a heavily influenced Laurel Canyon sound and style.

“Not Mad Anymore” lyrically attempts to make peace with overcoming a strained relationship, when Ashe sings “I’m not mad anymore about the madness, we didn’t have any more of the magic.” There is a soothing piano-based arrangement that is brought to life through Ashe’s realistic songwriting and honest delivery. While commenting on the song, Ashe explained, “It’s that acceptance phase of grieving when you’re like: ‘Okay. That’s how that went. I’m okay. I made it out and I’m better for it.’ Similar to ‘Moral Of The Story,’ but a little bit louder of a record.”

Ashe’s impressive stats include over 1.5 billion streams, over 9.5 million monthly Spotify listeners, 1.2 million TikTok followers, 155 million video views, 4.4 million social footprint, 2 top 40 hits (Top 10 Alt, Top 20 Hot AC and Pop, 300 million listening audience) and notable collaborations with FINNEAS and Niall Horan.
