Love Can Be Oh So Cold In Mari Dangerfield’s ‘Ruins’

Relationships are part of who we are as living creatures. It’s a testament that ‘no man is an island’. No matter how much we try to convince ourselves and say that we’re ‘fine’ alone. There will come moments when loneliness will catch up and eat away at our sanity. While there’s that, it also shows that love makes the world and head spin round like a top just like the Dead Or Alive hit ‘You Spin Me Round’.

Similar to bubbles bursting delicately in a flowering field in a mid summer’s day. We are treated to a tune about love, this time with an edge in Mari Dangerfield’s latest single entitled ‘Ruins’. Released May 19th in all major streaming platforms via Dimple Discs. ‘Ruins’ is a track about a love crumbling apart mixed in with environmental notes to it specifically the melting ice caps caused by climate change. Making for this human nature meets Mother Nature piece that’s sure to give you the feels.

With vocals so pure and peppy mixed in with eargasmic instrumentals in every turn. Mari Dangerfield’s ‘Ruins’ opens our eyes to the fact that the environment and relationships are equally fragile. Both need love, care and attention in order to flourish, or else it’ll deteriorate right before our eyes leaving us freezing out in a harsh snow storm. Not only that, it also requires patience but most importantly commitment. To stick by their side and in harmony with each other, as if notes to a song.

Albeit uberly danceable, ‘Ruins’ has its way of touching the soul. Filled with lyrics that pierce through the heart and straight to the soul. One can’t help but tear up about a couple that’s slowly drifting away. A partnership once filled with overflowing love disintegrates into a puddle of cold nothingness. All that’s left are battered and damaged individuals screaming to be strangers. To add to the pain, it also mirrors the plight of Mother Nature as she struggles with the abuse being dealt by us humans. Ah the agony! Stone cold agony!

If you’re looking for a song to dance to whilst being socially aware, then Mari Dangerfield’s ‘Ruins’ is the right one for you! So love your significant other and Mother Nature like you’ve never loved before.
