‘Turn It Up’ for Rico Nasty
Iconic trap queen Rico Nasty comes into full swing with the release of her new single, “Turn It Up.” In addition, we are treated with a music video to accompany it.
“Turn It Up” is a fierce, badass, percussion-heavy alt-rap masterpiece that is decorated with Rico’s signature “in-your-face” lyricism as she flaunts her wealth and assets to her haters. Even though the song is less than two-minutes long, Rico makes sure that her presence is still felt.

It shows the rapper in a sexy French maid attire as she wrecks havoc in a couple’s home by breaking photograph frames and tearing pillowcases. Unsurprisingly, she flaunts her jewelry and enjoys herself to a glass of champagne as she raps in a bubble-filled bathtub. At the end of the video, it is revealed that the rapper has held the aforementioned couple hostage in their basement, and in typical fashion, she resumes her “I-don’t-give-a-f” attitude and walks away from the scene. In conclusion, the video heightens the mischievous and fierce nature Rico’s artistry and the single’s content.
Rico has graced the public with her punk-inspired rap hits ever since she emerged the scene in 2017 with her mixtape Sugar Trap 2. In the upcoming years, she collaborated with Doja Cat on platinum hit “Tia Tamera” and released her debut album Nightmare Vacation (2020) with gold-certified hit “Smack A Bitch.”
Her artistry will only continue to shine as her 2017 track “Beat My Face” made a resurgence as Urban Decay’s ad campaign anthem. In addition, her current headlining tour, Monster Energy Outbreak Tour Presents: Rico Nasty has sold-out.
