New York Alternative Band, Sir Echo, Releases First Single After Moshing Through East Coast

Upcoming New York-based based band, Sir Echo, has just released two of their first singles, “Raven” and “Obituary.” If you haven’t seen them in the basements of the east coast creating mosh pits, you may have seen them at festivals like Launch Music Conference, Pleasantville Music Festival, or Newburgh Illuminated. Their alternative/punk rock and midwest emo sound sets them apart from mainstream music  – though you may be pleasantly surprised by their resounding electric guitar and cutting edge vocals.

“Raven” was their very first single and is an upbeat, hardcore rendition of a seemingly toxic relationship. Though it’s easy to romanticize the thought of falling in love with someone, it’s difficult to let the idea of it go when someone exploits your love.

“I bled your words like a sonnet, sonnet / the pool around me flooded didn’t it, didn’t it? / Anything, anything, you want me to be / I’ll manufacture it, manufacture it / I’d bite your lip my raven to invite you in / Sink my ship i’ll forget this in a minute / You love the misfit etiquette, you get a kick / Your pretty little monster, harmless in a harness”

Sir Echo’s next single is “Obituary,” a more mellow sound with hypnotizing electric guitar and unique lyricism about who they’d want to spend time with at the end of the world. Because the previous two years were filled with uncertainty of the future (COVID), it’s certainly a valid question to reflect on.

“We talk about doomsday at the dinner table / I wonder what they would say in my obituary / (Everybody has a vice but mine is feeling alive) / If everything ended-would you lie with me? / In the middle of the road while it crumbles beneath us / (Everybody has a vice but mine is feeling alive)”

Both songs were produced by West West Side Music with Pat Noon and Grammy-award winner Alan Douches. The label has produced records with accredited bands like Mastodon, Yes, Monster Magnet, Fleetwood Mac and The Misfits, so there’s no telling where Sir Echo will be next year!
