Paramore Announce Album Release Concert for “This is Why”

Pop punk legends Paramore announce an album release show on Fe. 6 for their upcoming album This is Why. The show will see Paramore return to their home city of Nashville, as they are set to perform at the iconic Grand Ole Opry House. Registration for pre-sale tickets began on Dec.6, with pre-sale beginning on Dec.8. General on sale tickets began on Dec.9.

Paramore is a band that needs little introduction. Following their initial formation in Tennessee in 2004, they have become the pop punk band of the 2000s. Their songs tackle teenage angst and perfectly describe the growing pains of slowly becoming an adult. They captured the hearts of their fans with songs such as “Ain’t it Fun” and “Misery Business.” Their influence can be felt in many artists of today, including Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo.

This is Why is set to release on Feb.10. The album marks Paramore’s sixth studio album and their first in five years since 2017’s After Laughter. Despite the band having no releases in that time period, lead singer Hayley Williams would release two solo albums that would be met with positive critical acclaim.

Paramore confirmed that they were working on a new album in January of this year. This announcement was met with overwhelmingly positive response. The band stated that this album would be a lot more “guitar heavy” and similar to the sounds of their earlier works.

“We’ve found ourselves listening to a lot of older music that we grew up being inspired by”

That list includes artists such as Radiohead, Blondie, Green Day and Siouxsie and the Banshees

Paramore have released one single from their upcoming album, the titular “This is Why”, which happened to be the last song that they worked on for the album.

“It summarizes the plethora of ridiculous emotions, the rollercoaster of being alive in 2022, having survived even just the last three or four years. You’d think after a global pandemic of fucking biblical proportions and the impending doom of a dying planet, that humans would have found it deep within themselves to be kinder or more empathetic or something.”

Even after being in the music industry for nearly twenty years, a new Paramore release still gets music fans excited and buzzing with anticipation. Paramore will go on a tour to support their upcoming album with indie acts such as Bloc Party, Foals, the Linda Lindas, and hip hop artist Genesis Owusu. You can find tickets on their website. You can follow Paramore on their Instagram and Facebook. You can listen to their music on Spotify and YouTube
