Celebrating el Cinco de Mayo!

Share
Share

Cinco de Mayo is a well-known holiday in Mexico and in the U.S. It is often celebrated in the U.S with drinks, food and mucho fiestas. In Puebla, where it is celebrated most, locals also put on a military parade. The true meaning of Cinco de Mayo symbolizes strength and resilience of the Mexican people who overcame invaders attempting to take over their land. Mexican artists like Selena, Vicente Fernandez, and Santana are all very well known for bringing people together, validating their culture, and being relentless with their pursuits.

Music within the Mexican culture utilizes live mariachi bands and a range of instruments including trumpets, accordions, maracas, guitars, and more. Not everyone can take a trip to Mexico to truly experience live Mexican music and their culture. However, queue this playlist, grab your sombrero and dancing shoes, and get ready to feel like you’re in Puebla, Mexico.
