Electro-house producer, KSHMR, recently released his first single of 2021, which also is the first single from his highly anticipated debut album, Harmonica Andromeda, which will be released in March. Known for his full-bodied house tracks that are heavily influenced by his Indian heritage, KSHMR spent the last 2+ years working on this debut album. He’s noted that it contains the best music he’s ever made and of “The World We Left Behind,” he says “it brings me to tears when I listen to it.”
He enlisted the vocal talents of acclaimed artist, songwriter, and vocal producer, Karra, to deliver an outstandingly beautiful single to listeners around the world. Karra, who has worked with many top electronic producers, has spearheaded her own path as a woman in production and sound design and prides herself on sharing her wealth of knowledge to inspire generations to come. Of course, when you have two musical powerhouses like KSHMR and Karra working together, you’re going to get something unique and wonderful…and that’s exactly what “The World We Left Behind” is – with some euphoria and bliss to go with it as well.
Listeners are invited into the vibrant and cinematic soundscape with ethereal vocals, glistening synths, a rising chorus, and a riveting bassline. Within the first 30 seconds, you can already feel like you’ve been pulled into this dynamic atmosphere, and the song is just getting started. A build-up into Karra’s first verse happens over the next 30 seconds as the instrumental becomes more energized with ascending drums before subsiding to a more delicate, yet still vivid. The instrumentals continue to rise and fall as Karra continues her radiant vocal performance with a resoundingly strong message about what connects us – we are one.
