You’ve likely heard the voice of ivri if you’ve been anywhere on the internet in the last couple of years. The Florida-born, Brooklyn-based artist has been building an entire universe of her own design since releasing her original music; however, even before then her works have been sampled many times.

“My biggest song isn’t even my own,” she comments. “It’s actually a sample of my voice that someone took. And at the time when it happened, I didn’t know I could get paid for that,” she chuckles. “But now I do.”

Her breakout moment came when SadBoyProlific sampled her vocals on “Alone” and went viral, opening the door to a wave of collaborations and her own rising catalog. In 2025, she delivered her defining moment with “tower of memories”. It became a global phenomenon with nearly 4.5B+ video creations and chart-topping success across TikTok and SoundCloud.

Since then, ivri’s universe has expanded; and not just literally.

She’s been building a sonic world with chapters of lore and growth, and linking it all to her own experiences and coming-of-age story.

So it all starts in the Star Factory. It’s this place that just represents like youth and like where you come from. The Star Factory is a place like a big infinite building for your thoughts, your subconscious, dreams, your hopes… it’s kind of just like your brain. And that place, when you grow up and get older, you kind of have to leave the places that you’re familiar with.

Going into that, I leave the Star Factory and I find a journal that is titled The Theory of You. But really it’s actually my real life… As you get older and you grow up, those heavier feelings turned to heavier emotions, which turned into a heavier sound in my music…

A character gets introduced called Mr. Brain Gobbler, the very last song on The Theory of You. He’s also on the cover… He’s a manifestation of like anxiety and depression and all that. Evidence of You is kind of just discovering yourself. The themes of the project were like derealization, imposter syndrome, like dissociation. And so it’s just kind of like my own journey… but there is this world that’s being created and objects that are being found.

We caught up with ivri at Aftershock 2026 to talk about her evolving sound, the stories and emotions behind her music, her unexpected rise online, and more.
