Singer-songwriter and American Idol alum Liahona Olayan has just dropped her new single, “Strum That Guitar,” a vibrant track blending pop with Latin rhythms that’s poised to climb the charts. The chorus is irresistibly catchy, packed with so much energy you’ll easily get swept up in its rhythmic magic.
Produced in Los Angeles by Grammy-nominated Luigie “Lugo” Gonzalez, this song is primed to be an instant hit. From the first note, “Strum That Guitar” pulls you into a world of sound, with the guitar driving the track and daring you to move to its beat.
Co-written with Alih Jey De Pena, the song holds special meaning as it reflects Liahona’s artistic growth after her missionary work in Mexico. “Being of service to those less fortunate made it all worth the sacrifice. I learned a lot about humility and patience. Now that I can speak Spanish fluently, I have been able to incorporate Latin pop into my music. I can’t wait to share this music with the world and especially with the people of Mexico. I hope to continue to serve them through my music,” she shares. Now, she’s channeling that into lyrics with deeper authenticity and rhythms fusing pop, reggaeton, and soul, all while staying true to her spiritual roots.
Liahona has already lined up her next releases: “Cállate La Boca,” followed by another single, which arrives in August. Both tracks are a preview of her debut album, “Just Me, Liahona.”
With 12 songs weaving pop, Latin grooves, and flawless production, Liahona proves her musical evolution knows no limits. Each track showcases her versatility and ability to connect with listeners through melodies that are simply sensational.
At just 21, Liahona Olayan has already made her mark. Her American Idol run alongside her brother Ammon (earning praise from Katy Perry and Lionel Richie) was only the beginning. Now, with “Strum That Guitar,” Liahona is ready to shine in a new era, merging her faith, multicultural roots, and passion for Latin pop.
