Attack Attack! has flipped changed the script with a reinvention into… country? You heard that right. Long-time drummer and founding member Andrew Wetzel announced he’s ditching the drums and grabbing the mic as the band’s new front man.
If you’ve been around during the original Warped Tour days in the mid-2000s or shopped at Hot Topic, you know the band. Their early career was a bit short-lived; but Attack Attack! has been creating a stir in the scene since their reunion in 2020 after their indefinite hiatus happened 2013. Particularly this week… rumors started brewing from a post on Reddit, of all places. Some speculated the interaction felt forced, and others stated it may be the end for the band.
However, this morning, a series of posts were revealed on social media, and seems to confirm suspicions: a new era, at least… what that era offers, fans are making their guesses.
Watch the announcement below:
While most announcements roll out in a similar fashion, few bands boast of such a shift in direction — from “crabcore” to “cowboycore,” as a commenter added.
For the bold new chapter, Andrew Wetzel will be stepping into the role of lead vocalist to take the band in a new, unexpected direction. Marking a creative reinvention for the group, Attack Attack! are eager to share that the next single, “Dance!” will be released next week. This new track will serve as the first taste of what’s to come from what promises to be the most entertaining era for the band yet.
Since the announcement, comments started speculating further…

At the end of the announcement video, viewers are prompted to call a phone number. Here’s what we heard when we called…
The first taste of this unexpected evolution is this brand-new single, set to drop with a special guest… possibly… Lorna Shore’s Will Ramos?? The band has our attention, that’s for sure.
Alongside the announcement, a short US tour will be beginning in just a couple of weeks. Tickets are available here. I’m curious to see what the live sets will look like, if the rumors are true. Will fans want their money back, as the phone call stated? Only time will tell.
