YUNGBLUD has never been an artist who conformed to society’s standards- and his return with the nine-minute rock ballad, “Hello Heaven, Hello,” proves it. This is not a radio-friendly song played at the top of every hour, it’s a song of rebirth from an artist redefining himself.

The 27-year-old from Doncaster, UK, has had impressive success: with his last two albums going number 1 in the UK, accumulating 6 billion global streams. YUNGBLUD has been known for his unpredictable, raw, and often disruptive nature, which is translated into his newest single, “Hello Heaven, Hello.” His newest song differs from his past work, showcasing the evolution of a growing artist who continues to take on a creative fearlessness.

His newest single is reminiscent of rock legends: a mesmerizing blend of Bowie, Queen, and Green Day mixed to create something uniquely YUNGBLUD. It’s loud, it’s raw, and it demands to be listened to, much like the artist himself. He describes the song as “a journey that is meant to be played in its entirety,” which sets a precedent for his new album.

The official music video for “Hello Heaven, Hello,” directed by Charlie Sarsfield, premiered across MTV Live, MTVU, and even Paramount’s Times Square screens- showcasing a visceral and visual companion to YUNGBLUD’s newest single. Fans don’t just hear the raw emotion YUNGBLUD poured into his latest single- they get to see and experience it for themselves through his visual storytelling.

At his core, YUNGBLUD has always been an artist who takes risks. A nine-minute rock ballad might not be the most popular choice for an artist’s album’s debut single, but as YUNGBLUD says, “…risk is an artist’s greatest tool- without risk, there is no innovation.”

The song’s conception began 4 years ago, during YUNGBLUD’s 2020 Weird! Tour. He was alone in a hotel room, questioning what would come next in his career and how to evolve creatively.

I felt like I was starting to repeat myself- I’d become comfortable.

Instead of sitting in comfortability, YUNGBLUD challenged himself to create something entirely new: a completely non-traditional single full of his signature rebellious and genre-bending artistry. It’s an ambitious single and a catalyst for YUNGBLUD’s new, transformative era.

The release follows the announcement of BLUDFEST Year 2, which is returning to the Milton Keynes National Bowl in June of 2025. Curated and headlined by YUNGBLUD, the festival is back and sure to be louder, bolder, and push more boundaries than ever.

“Hello Heaven, Hello” is an homage to YUNGBLUD’s past and a glimpse into the artistry of his future. It is undoubtedly his most ambitious project yet, further solidifying YUNGBLUD as one of music’s finest and most innovative young artists.

As YUNGBLUD puts it, “Where the f*ck are we gonna end up? Let’s see.”
