The J Pop duo known as Yoasobi has released their newest single “劇上 Gekijyo” on October 2nd. The single is to be the official theme for Japanese television drama series “Pray Speak What Has Happened.” Creating a new milestone within their career full of vitality and passion.

The duo of Yoasobi consists of composer Ayase and vocalist ikura, known to many as cord-breaking international superstars. Known for their consistent top charting songs since 2019 on multiple streaming charts.
Both members of Yoasobi have put in so much thought and detail in the creation of this single. Gekijyo becomes a reflection of their hard work with the J Pop duo having musical control of the singles outcome.
We created this song with the intention of doing our utmost to support the drama. We read the script countless times, recorded the song multiple times, and went through countless mix checks and lyrical rewrites.

The single Gekijyo inspired by a novel written by Koki Mitani making the single a reflection of the Japanese drama series. Within the creation of the song, the duo looked at the show’s script in detail to grasp the emotions and created the best version of their song. Putting in their all in order to produce a high quality single to further highlight their creativity and hard work.
While Yoasobi has already gone global with multiple sold out shows, an arena tour and performances at both Coachella and Lollapalooza, the drama series will have a global release. Making it Mitani’s first prime-time series for a commercial network in 25 years.
