GRAMMY-nominated electronic trio Above & Beyond finally unleashes their fifth studio album, ‘Bigger Than All Of Us.’ Read more to get all the details!
After seven years, Above & Beyond gives the world a full-length electronic record, and it’s well worth the wait! Listeners will sweep through a 16-track journey, packing everything there is to love about the trio. From their signature emotional songwriting to their melodic depth, the album has it all.
Not only that, but the lengths to write the album include various spectacular talents! Written across continents, it features returning collaborators Malou, Victoria Horn, and Justine Suissa, just to name a few.
At its core, ‘Bigger Than All Of Us’ is a love letter to the Anjunafamily, the global community that has grown with the band over the past 25 years.
This is what Soljamäki, a member of the trio, has to say,
It’s not about fame, it’s about family. The Anjunafamily is the reason this record exists. When we all come together, something beautiful happens. That’s what this album is. It really is bigger than all of us.

As for the tracks themselves, the immediate standout is “Quicksand (Don’t Go),” a soaring trance anthem. It features Zoë Johnston’s voice, debuting during the sold-out Group Therapy 600 show in Mexico. Johnston’s lyrics, which grapple with the pain of loss and the hope of connection, set the emotional tone for the record.
Here is what the band has to say about Zoë and the track,
‘Quicksand’ is classic Zoë. We’ve been working with her for 22 years, and her voice is a reassuring signal to our fans that Above & Beyond are back.

Another song is “Start A Fire”, which brings together a long-lost Paavo demo with Tony McGuinness’s lyrics and Richard Bedford’s vocals. Its hypnotic slow burn entices listeners in, giving off an atmospheric groove with a pulsing bass. In between Bedford’s echoing voice enchants the track in a loop, promising to “start a fire.”
“When You Believe” is a track that we believe will be another favorite. It’s infused with Victoria Horn’s vocals, whose last A&B collaboration was the fan-favorite “Counting Down the Days.” This track in particular is meant to lift spirits with its bright beat, crisp percussion, and melodic backbone. The lyrics deliver a message about faith and love, which carries 10-fold with Horn’s emotive voice. It’s a song that uplifts authentically without sounding performative.
“Heartland” by the trio carries over the hopeful vibes, all the while priming the song to be perfect for a dance floor. It features artist Justine Suissa, whose voice helps the listener emerge into a place of warmth and vulnerability. The lyrics and vocals add a serene and ethereal quality that exudes both comfort and power. The music and background tones, and beats delicately touch listeners through the moments of reflection and hope. It’s a song that is great for when you’re feeling reflective with the need to move.
Further highlights include “Letting Go,” a haunting collaboration with German Hawaiian artist Malou. Jono Grant, another band member, claims Malou is a joy to work with. This is clearly seen in the production of the song, which is full of overflowing passion and love for the craft.
