REZZ & Virtual Riot Drop “Give in to you”

On September 13, 2024, electronic powerhouses REZZ and Virtual Riot joined forces for their debut collaboration, “Give in to you (feat. One True God),” through Monstercat. This steamy track showcases the distinctive production talents of all three artists, promising to tempt fans and newcomers alike.

The track first warms up the listener with an eerie synth loop and minimal percussion. Soon after, One True God’s smooth voice cuts through the instrumental, adding a layer of anticipation. Just as it feels like the chorus is about to drop, there’s a tension-filled 8-count delay emphasized by the sound of a door creaking open. The chorus drops into a monstrous midtempo beat; a sound quite synonymous with REZZ. Mixing in Virtual Riot’s varied dubstep expertise, the track is intense, mechanical, and sticky in the best way. REZZ’s ominous, cyberpunk-ish aesthetic shows a striking new face with this team project. 

The lyrics match the track seamlessly. They not only play into One True God’s taboo musical identity but also offer up some satisfying text painting. He sings in his raspy, simmering tone:

I can feel you pull me under / Smoke and mirrors doubt my eyes / Cut through all your damned illusion / And I give in to you

The outro contains haunting adlibs that leave the listener wanting more, tempted to follow the voice into the darkness.

Reflecting on the collaboration, REZZ shared, “We met at deadmau5’s house and worked on a song together. I then hit up One True God, and he nailed the vocal! I’m thrilled with how this song turned out.“

Virtual Riot added, “The emotional headspace for writing the track revolved around choosing what’s familiar over what’s actually good for them, and Alan (One True God) captured that perfectly.”

Fans can experience “Give in to you” live during Virtual Riot’s upcoming “Stealing Fire” tour, which will hit big cities like New York and Seattle. Meanwhile, REZZ is set to perform at the III Points Festival and Paranormal Underground this October.
