#NMF Dance: Our Picks For The Week
New music from Sara Landry, GHENGAR, Tape B, and more on New Music Friday.
1. Sara Landry – “Awakening”
Sara Landry returns with “Awakening,” the sixth single from her upcoming sophomore album Divine Intervention. Dark, mystical, and fiercely kinetic, the track fuses psytrance and hard techno into a pounding four-on-the-floor rush, driven by hypnotic vocals and a glitchy, relentless rhythm. Following “Energy” with Ali James, previously highlighted in NMF HERE, “Awakening” successfully shows another side of Landry’s expanding hard dance universe. It proves just how wide her creative range can stretch without losing its raw underground force.
2. GHENGAR – “LAVENDER CITY”
“LAVENDER CITY” works perfectly as an opening track because it throws listeners straight into the world of REBIRTH. Based on Pokémon mythology, horror-coded atmosphere, tear-out pressure, and metal-fueled intensity, the track makes GHENGAR’s new era feel immediate and fully formed. Its twisted take on the “Lavender Town” motif gives the album an instantly recognizable entry point, before exploding into a moshpit-ready drop packed with vocal samples, riddim, and game-inspired effects.
3. Edison Cole & Madyx – “Outta My Head”
Edison Cole and Madyx link up on “Outta My Head,” a sharp release on Killed It! Records built around tension and release. In contrast to Edison Cole’s heavy brostep force, the track opens with a glossy and fresh melody. This perfectly letting the textured vocals trace the feeling of breaking free from a toxic relationship. That contrast is what makes the single hit: sleek melody and raw bass pressure working together, balancing nostalgic dubstep energy with a modern edge.
4. Tape B – Ghosts in the Static
Tape B finally unveils his long-awaited debut album Ghosts In The Static. This is a 12-track statement that pulls his full evolution into focus. Across heavy low-end, melodic songwriting, cinematic textures, and the nostalgic electronic sounds that shaped him, the project feels like a modern electronic music scripture for a new generation.
5. MESSIE – “SICKER THAN SICK”
MESSIE returns to HARD Recs with “SICKER THAN SICK,” a rap-powered UK bass cut from her four-track EP ZONE THREE. In collaboration with British MC Cola B and Berlin club force SALOME, the track turns commanding bars, booming low-end, slick syncopation, and complex percussion into a high-pressure club weapon. Blurring breaks, UK garage, bassline, grime, and global club energy, “SICKER THAN SICK” captures MESSIE’s counter-cultural rhythm at its sharpest and most chaotic.

#NewMusicFriday: Our Picks for the Week
New music from Lil Nas X, Amira Elfeky, Beach Weather, and more on New Music Friday.
1. Lil Nas X – “World’s Greatest”
Lil Nas X drops “World’s Greatest,” dedicated to his late mother, Tamikia Hill. The track was built on faith, resilience, and self-belief, turning her favorite phrase, “walk by faith, not by sight,” into a guiding force. Undoubtedly, “World’s Greatest” moves between vulnerability and triumph. It lands as a powerful reminder to keep going, even when the path feels impossible.
2. Amira Elfeky – “Breakdown”
Amira Elfeky crashes back with “Breakdown,” her first solo release, which represents her new trilogy. Dark, immersive, and emotionally charged, the track captures the paralysis of wanting to change. While feeling too exhausting to move, it turns that breaking point into something heavy, cathartic, and strangely hopeful. Blending alternative, metal, shoegaze, pop, and electronic textures, “Breakdown” pulls listeners back into Elfeky’s spellbinding sonic universe ahead of her Texas Motor Speedway festival appearance on October 24.
3. Beach Weather – “New Aesthetic”
Beach Weather enters a darker new chapter with “New Aesthetic,” a hypnotic single that turns desire, obsession, and self-erasure into something cinematic and dangerously smooth. Built on provocative lyricism, moody atmosphere, and the band’s signature hook-driven pull, the track pushes their sound into more visceral territory. It still carries a laid-back chill, like a strange thought drifting through a weekend afternoon. Meanwhile, “New Aesthetic” opens the door to Beach Weather’s bolder, more unfiltered next era.
4. The Wldlfe – “Ruby”
The Wldlfe open up Revolver, 2026 with “Ruby,” a warm, hook-driven treasure shaped by creative freedom and easy emotional pull. Blending ’80s rock shimmer, Top 40 brightness, alternative texture, and indie charm, the track feels like autumn light in motion, soft, nostalgic, and instantly inviting. As the song that helped spark the album’s imagined story line, “Ruby” captures the band at a more instinctive point, trusting feeling over formula and turning that freedom into one of the album’s most effortless moments.
5. Quavo, Pharrell Williams, Tyler, The Creator, A$AP Rocky – Baby Breath”
Quavo puts the spotlight on “Baby Breath,” a star-stacked standout from his new album QRÖMELIFE. With Pharrell Williams, Tyler, The Creator, and A$AP Rocky in the mix, the track arrives with the kind of lineup that instantly raises the adrenaline, while turning Quavo’s reflective new era into a high-voltage rap moment. At the same time, the bold, packed, and impossible-to-skip “Baby Breath” stands as one of the album’s significant cuts.
